∴ A+B+C=1540       ...(1)

A received three times as much money as B.

∴ A=3B

∴ B=  A/3 ...(2)

C's share is half that of A's.

∴ C= A/2

∴ A=2C                         ...(3)

Substituting (3) in (2) we get,

B=  2C/3   ...(4)

Substituting (4) and (3) in (1) we get,  

A=840, B=280, C=420

∴ C receives: Rs.420
