Given :-

  • A invest = Rs.4000 for 1 year.
  • B invest = Rs.3000 for 1 year.
  • C invest = Rs.7000 for 1 year.
  • A is paid 10% of the profit as compensation for his work .
  • A receives a profit of Rs. 6000 as his profit share .

To Find :-

  • Find out the amount that B and C together receive ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Profit is distributed in the ratio of their (investment * Time) .

so,

→ Ratio of Profit :- A : B : C = (4000 * 1) : (3000 * 1) : (7000 * 1) = 4 : 3 : 7 .

now, Let us assume that, Total profit was Rs.100x .

then,

→ As compensation A recieved = 10% of 100x = (100x * 10)/100 = Rs.10x .

so,

→ Left profit = 100x - 10x = Rs.90x .

and , out of this profit,

→ A recieved = (4/14) * 90x = Rs.(180x/7)

therefore,

→ A total received = 10x + (180x7)

→ (70x + 180x)/7 = 6000

→ (250x/7) = 6000

→ 250x = 6000 * 7

→ 25x = 4200

→ x = 168 .

hence,

→ Total Profit = 100x = 168 * 100 = Rs.16,800 .

→ (B + C) together received = Total profit - Profit of A = 16800 - 6000 = Rs.10,800 (D) (Ans.)
