A’s share out of a total profit of Rs. 8475 earned in a year is Rs. 1800.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that A, B & C starts a business by investing Rs. 2000, Rs. 3000 & Rs. 4000 respectively.

According to the question, we have

A’s capital = 2000 * 12 = Rs. 24000

B’s capital = (3000*4) + (4000*8) = 12000 + 32000 = Rs. 44000

C’s capital = (4000*9) + (3000*3) = 36000 + 9000 = Rs. 45000

The ratio of capitals of A, B & C = 24000:44000:45000 = 24:44:45

Total profit earned at the end of the year = Rs. 8475

Thus,

A’s share out of the total profit at the end of the year will be,

= [24/(24+44+45)] * 8475

= [24/113] * 8475

= 24 * 75

=  Rs. 1800
