Assume that a,b,c are consecutive numbers

consecutive numbers are continuous numbers just like 1,2,3 or 4,5,6 or 7,8,9

if a = 1 , b = 2, c=3

then 2b = 4 and a+c = 1+3 = 4

So, 2b =a+c

2b = a+c

b - c = a - b  ; c = 2b -a

a+b+c = 2b+b = 3b = 24

b = 8 ; c = 16 -a

abc = a(8)(16-a) = 440

a(16-a) = 55

16a-a² = 55

a²-16a+55 = 0

a²-11a-5a+55 = 0

a = 11,5

If a = 11, c = 16-11 = 5

a-b-c = 11-8-5 = -2

If a = 5, c =16-5 = 11

a-b-c = 5-8-11 = -14
