In ∆AEB and ∆ECD
AE = ED (EAD is an isosceles triangle)
AB = CD (given)
angle A = angle D (AE = ED)
Now, ∆AEB is congruent to ∆ECD (by SAS)
By CPCT, BE = CE
Hence, ∆EBC is an isosceles triangle.
