The largest number is 50.

Explanation:

Given : A b c d and e are five consecutive even numbers.

Let A = x

Then , b= x+2

c= x+4

d= x+6

e= x+8

Since , average of a and e is 46 .

It means ,

\dfrac{x+x+8}{2}=46\\\\ 2x+8=2(46)\\\\ 2x+8=92\\\\ 2x= 92-8\\\\ 2x=84\\\\ x=\dfrac{84}{2}=42

Hence, the largest number = x+8= 42+8=50

Thus , the largest number is 50.
