The answer is (ii) A and B

We're given these statements:-

1. A, B, C, D, E, F and G are sitting in a line facing East.

2. C is in the immediate right of D.

3. B is at the extreme end, and has E as his neighbor.

4. G is between E and F.

5. D is sitting third from the South end.

Explanation:-

1. Firstly, place D at third place from the bottom. That means C would be below D which leaves only one place below C.

2. B is at the extreme end, it has to be at the top because it can't have E as his neighbor at the bottom.

Our current positioning is:-

B E _ _ D C _

3. G is between E and F, so place them too:-

B E G F D C _

4. This leaves us only left with A who would be placed at bottom.

The final positioning is:-

B E G F D C A

Therefore, A and B are at the extremes. So, (ii) A and B is the correct answer.
