a:5 = b: 7 ..... b:7=c:8

7a =5b ....... 8b = 7c

a = 5b/7 ..... c= 8b/7

now ....

a+b+c = 5b/7 + b + 8b/7

........ ......= 13b/7 + b

..... ..... ....= 20b/7 ......answer

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

hey mate

this equation can also be written as a/5 = b/7 = c/8

let us assume all these values are equal to some constant k

such that a = 5k ; b = 7k ; c = 8k

we need a + b + c = 5k + 7k + 8K = 20k

if k = 0 then a + b + c = 0

if k = 1 then  a + b + c = 20

if k= -1 the a + b + c = -20

from these we can say the value of a + b + c will be multiples of 20 and k belongs to - ∞ to + ∞
