take lcm of 40 and 60 =140

assume it to bw thw total capacity of tank. now divide 240/40 and 60 to get the efficiency of A and B A=6 and B=4

together they fill 10 lts/min tital 240 will ve filled in 240/10=24min

now after C is closed they take another 16 min to fill the tank

in 24 min they fill the tank in 16 min they will fill 2/3 of the tank hence C emptied 160 units of water in 24 min

Now A+B+C × 24 =160

A=6 B=4

10-C ×24=160

10- 160/24lC

10-20/3=C

C= 10/3

Now total tank=240

/10/3= 72min
