• It is used to differentiate the White blood cells & Red blood cells from the Parasites of disease causing Like Malaria & Trypanosoma.

• It was invented by William Boog Leishman.

• Commonly Leishman stain is sold in Powder Form.

• It should be Stored in Dark conditions as Light Oxidizes the Stain (Leishman stain).

• On Staining The blood cells (WBC & RBC) it gives a characteristic Violet colour which helps in differentiation of the Blood cells From Pathogens.
