A bacterial cell get mitosis in it .a cup is take 4 hours to get fulfill by the bacterial cell divisions . then how much time the cup want to get half ???

My answer is intutive, I am not doing it rigorously, think about it, bacteria becomes twice of it's population every minute, and it took them 60 min to fill a cup.

Consider now bacteria had filled half a cup, now to fill full cup bacteria needs 1 min only (as they become twice every min so 1/2cupbacteria×2=1cupbacteria) thereforee,

time taken by bacteria to fill half cup= time taken by bacteria to fill full cup – 1=60–1=59minutes
