a bag consists 27 balls of which some are white and others are red.A ball is picked at random. if the probability of getting a red ball is 2/3,find the no. of white balls.

Let the no. of red balls be x.
Total no. of balls= 27
P(getting a red ball)= x/total no. of balls
=x/27
2/3= x/27
x=2/3*27
x=18
Therefore no. of white balls= 27-18
=9
