A bag contains 1 rupee, 50 paise, 25 paise coins in the ratio 4:7:5 respectively. If the total amount in the bag is ₹ 280 , then find the number of 50 paise coins in the bag.

\boxed{\underline{\green{solution}}}

Let,

no. of 1 rupee coins = 4 x

no. of 50 paise coins

(0.50 rupee coins )= 7 x

no. of 25 paise coins

(0.25 rupee coins) = 5 x

also,

as given

total amount in the bag = ₹ 280

then,

1 (4x) + 0.50 (7x) + 0.25 (5x) = 280

4 x + 3.5 x + 1.25 = 280

8.75 x = 280

x = 32

so,

no. of 50 paise coins = 7 x = 7 × 32

no. of 50 paise coins = 224

\pink{hence \: there \: are \: 224 \: coins \: of \: 50 \: paise}
