The total value of all the coins in the bag is Rs. 1008.

  • The ratio of values of 10 rupees , 2 rupees and 1 rupee coins in the bag is 15 : 8 : 1.
  • Let the common multiple be x.
  • Now ,

The value of 10 rupees coins in the bag will be 15x.

The value of 2 rupees coins in the bag will be 8x.

The value of 1 rupee coins in the bag will be x.

  • Now,

The number of coins of rupees 10 = 15x / 10 = 1.5x

The number of coins of rupees 2 = 8x / 2 = 4x

The number of coins of rupee 1 = x / 1 = x

  • Total number of coins = 273

1.5x + 4x + x = 273

6.5x = 273

x = 42.

  • Therefore the value of x is 42.
  • Now,

The value of 10 rupees coins in the bag is 15x = 15 × 42 = 630

The value of 2 rupees coins in the bag is 8x = 8 × 42 = 336

The value of 1 rupee coins in the bag is x = 42.

  • The total value of all the coins in the bag = 630 + 336 + 42 = Rs. 1008
