a bag contains 12 balls out of which x balls are white. if one ball is taken out from the bag, find the probability of getting white ball. if 6 more white balls are added to the bag and now the probability of getting a white ball is double the previous one, find the value of x. ​

No of balls = 12

No of white balls = x

Required probability of getting white balls = \frac{x}{12}

Now,

No of balls added = 6

Total balls = 18

Probability of getting white balls = \frac{x+6}{18}

Equation formed:

=> \frac{x+6}{18} = {2x}/{12}

=> 12x + 72 = 36x

=> 24x = 72

=> x = 3

Therefore,

Value of x = 3
