Given:-

  • A bag contains 120 marbles.
  • Some are red the rest are black

To find:-

  • Red marbles are in the bag?

Solution:-

Let the number of red marbles be x.

Let the number of black marble be y.

★ It is given that so there are total 120 marbles.

Therefore,

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{x + y = 120}}}⠀⠀⠀......(i)

★ It is also given that there are 19 red marbles for every black marble.

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{x = 19y}}}⠀⠀⠀.......(ii)

Putting the value of x in the eq. (i)

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{19y + y = 120}}}

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{20y = 120}}}

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{y = \dfrac{120}{20}}}}

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{y = 6}}}

Putting the value of y in eq. (ii)

\large{\tt{\longmapsto{x = 19 \times 6}}}

\boxed{\large{\tt{\longmapsto{\red{x = 114}}}}}

Hence, the number of red marbles in the bag is 114.
