Solution:
Let the Number of white balls in a bag= x
Number of red balls in a bag= 15
Total number of balls in a bag= 15+x
Probability of drawing a white ball from the bag=1/6 ( given)
Probability (white) = number of white balls in a bag /total number of balls in a bag
1/6 = x/ (15+x)
6x = 15+x
6x - x = 15
5x= 15
x= 15/5= 3
x= 3
Hence, the number of white balls in the bag is 3

ans= 3 white balls
fav.outcomes be x
and total outcomes be 15+x
therefore, x/(15+x)= 1/6
