A bag contains 20 balls out of which x balls are red.
(i) If one ball is drawn at random from the bag, find
the probability that it is not red.
(ii) If 4 more red balls are out into the bag, the
probability of drawing a red ball will be times

A bag contains 20 balls out of which x balls are red.

(i) If one ball is drawn at random from the bag, find

the probability that it is not red.

(ii) If 4 more red balls are out into the bag, the

probability of drawing a red ball will be times

the probability of drawing a red ball in the first

case. Find the value of x.

SOLUTION:-

The Probability the it will ne red is ..

 \frac{x}{20}

above is for the possibility of red.

the question asks for the possibility that it will be not a red.

 =  > 1 -  \frac{x}{20}  \\  =  >  \frac{20 - x}{20}

this is the probability for not having "x" as red.

(2) If 4 more balls are added in this, whats the probability for having a red.

Total number of balls :- 20+4=24balls.

total red balls=(x+4)

Probability for having... red is.

 =  >  \frac{x + 4}{24}
