Probability of not getting red balls = 20/24

Probability of not getting red balls = 5/6

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the Question

It is given that,

Total number of balls in bag ,T = 24

No. of Red balls ,R = x

No. of white balls ,W = 2x

No. of blue balls ,B = 3x

As per given condition , bag contains 24 balls .

Then , Sum of all coloured balls is equal to number of balls present in bag .

x + 2x +3x = 24

6x = 24

x = 24/6

x = 4

Value of x is 4 .

Calculating number of balls

Number of Red balls = 3

Number of White balls = 2×4 = 8

Number of blue balls = 3×4 = 12

• Probability = Favourable Outcomes/Total Number of Outcomes

Probability of White balls = 8/24

Probability of White balls = 1/3

Hence, the Probability of getting white ball is 1/3

Now, calculating the Probability of getting not red ball.

Number of not red balls = White ball + Blue balls

Number of not red balls = 8+12

Number of not red balls = 20

Probability of not getting red balls = 20/24

Probability of not getting red balls = 5/6
