A bag contains 25 paisa and 50 paisa coin whose toatal value is rs 30.if the number of 25 paisa coin is four times that of 50 paisa coin,find the number of each type of coin.

let the number of 25 paise coin be 'x'

also, let the number of 50 paise coin be 'y'

Now, total value = ₹ 30 ( given) or 3000 paise

According to question we have,

=> 25 × x + 50 × y = 3000

=> 25x + 50y = 3000

=> 25( x + 2y ) = 3000

=> x + 2y = 3000/25

=> x + 2y = 120

also, we have

=> x = 4y ----------(2)

from (1) we have,

x + 2y = 120

Putting value of x we get,

=> 4y + 2y = 120
=> 6y = 120
=> y = 120/6
=> y = 20

from (2) we have,

x = 4y

=> x = 4 × 20
=> x = 80

Hence, the number of 25 paise coin = 80
and number of 50 paise coin = 20
