let's get same units first

25paise = 25/100 rs.

=0.25 rs.

50paise = 50/100 rs.

=0.5 rs.

let the number of 1 rupee coin be 4x the amout of rs.1 coin be 1x = 4x

let the amount of 0.5 rs. coin be 5x the amount of rs. 0.5 rs coin will be 0.5×(5x)=2.5x

let the amount of 0.25 rs. coin be 6x the amount of rs.25 coin will be 0.25×(6x)=1.5x

so 4x + 2.5x + 1.5x = 16

8x=16

x=2

the number of rs 0.25 coin are 6×2= 12 coins

the number of rs. 0.50 coin are 5×2 = 10 coins

the number of 1 rs coins are 4×2 = 8 coins

Answer:

The number of coins of 25 paise, 50 paise and ₹ 1 are 12, 10 & 8 respectively.

Step-by-step-explanation:

The coins of 25 paise, 50 paise and ₹ 1 are in the ratio 6 : 5 : 4.

Let the common multiple be x.

∴ Number of coins of 25 paise = 6x

Number of coins of 50 paise = 5x

Number of coins of 100 paise ( ₹ 1 ) = 4x

Now,

Total money of 25 paise = 25 paise * Number of coins of 25 paise

⇒ Total money of 25 paise = ( 25 * 6x ) paise

Total money of 25 paise = 150x paise

Now,

Total money of 50 paise = 50 paise * Number of coins of 50 paise

⇒ Total money of 50 paise = ( 50 * 5x ) paise

Total money of 50 paise = 250x paise

Now,

Total money of 100 paise = 100 paise * Number of coins of 100 paise

⇒ Total money of 100 paise = ( 100 * 4x ) paise

Total money of 100 paise = 400x paise

From the given condition,

The total money in the bag is ₹ 16.

We know that,

₹ 1 = 100 paise

⇒ ₹ 16 = ( 16 * 100 ) paise

₹ 16 = 1600 paise

Now,

Total money in the bag = 1600 paise

Total money of 25 paise + Total money of 50 paise + Total money of 100 paise = 960 paise

⇒150x + 250x + 400x = 1600

⇒ 400x + 400x = 1600

⇒ 800x = 1600

⇒ x = 1600 / 800

x = 2

Now,

Number of coins of 25 paise = 6x

⇒ Number of coins of 25 paise = 6 * 2

Number of coins of 25 paise = 12

Now,

Number of coins of 50 paise = 5x

⇒ Number of coins of 50 paise = 5 * 2

Number of coins of 50 paise = 10

Now,

Number of coins of 100 paise = 4x

⇒ Number of coins of 100 paise = 4 * 2

Number of coins of 100 paise = 8

The number of coins of 25 paise, 50 paise and ₹ 1 are 12, 10 & 8 respectively.
