A bag contains 300 in the form of 1-rupee, 50-paise and 25-paise coins in the ratio 5: 8:4. Find the
number of coins of each type.

  • Total amount = Rs. 300
  • Rs 1 : Rs 0.5 : Rs 0.25 = 5 : 8 : 4

Let the no. of coin be 5x , 8x and 4x

Total amount of 1 rupee coin = 5x x 1

Total amount of 0.5 rupees coin = 8x x 0.5

Total amount of 0.25 rupee coin = 4x x 0.25
