 Number \: of \: balls \: in \:a \:bag \\= 4(white) + 5(blue) \\= 9

 \blue{ Number \:of \: total \: possible }\\\blue{outcomes = 9 \: ---(1)}

 a ) Number \:of \: favourable \: outcomes \\= Number \:of \: white \:balls \\= 4 \: --(2)

 Probability ( Getting\:a \:white \:ball) = \frac{(2)}{(1)} \\= \frac{4}{9}

 b) Number \:of \: favourable \: outcomes \\= Number \:of \: blue \:balls \\= 5 \: --(3)

 Probability ( Getting \:a\:blue \:ball) = \frac{(3)}{(1)} \\= \frac{5}{9}
