Answer:

Let no red marbles =r

Let no green marbles =g

The no of green marbles is 9 times the no of red marbles so..

g=9×r

g+r=40

9×r + r =40

10r = 40

r = 40/10

r = 4

g + r = 40

g + 4 =40

g = 40 - 4

g = 36

So

r=4

g=36

Answer:

Red marbles are 4 and green are 36

Step-by-step explanation:

let no. of red marbles= r

let no. of green marbles= g

green marbles are 9 times of red marbles= g=9r

r + g = 40

r + 9r = 40
