$Number \: of \: white \: marbles = x$

$Number \: of \: red \: marbles = 48 - x$

If 8 more marbles added ( in this white marbles are 5 ) then

i) Total marbles = 48 + 8 = 56

ii) Number of white marbles = (x+5)

iii) Number of red marbles = (48-x + 3)

= (51 - x )

$Probability \: of \: drawing \: a \: white$

$marble = \frac{ Number \: of \: white \: marbles}{Total \:marbles }$

$= \frac{x+5}{56}$
