A bag contains 4kg of rice. 1500gm has been taken out for cooking. What is the ratio of the amount taken out to that of the original quantity?

Rice originally in the bag = 4 Kg = 4,000 g
Rice taken out = 1,500 g

Ratio of rice taken out to qriginal quantity = 1500/4000
= 15/40
= 3/8

The required ratio is 3 : 8
