----------------------------------------

Here is the solution:

----------------------------------------

Total number of balls = 5 + 4 + 3 = 12

Number of red balls = 5

Number of green balls = 4

P(red ball) = 5/12

P(green ball) = 4/12 = 1/3

P(red and then green) = (5/12) ( 1/3) = 5/36

Answer: The probability of a red and the a green is 5/36
