SOLUTION

GIVEN

  • A bag contains 6 red beads and 4 green beads.

  • Another contains 2 Red and 2 green beads more.

TO DETERMINE

The probability of getting red beads from which bag is more

EVALUATION

FIRST BAG

First bag contains 6 red beads and 4 green beads.

So total number of beads = 6 + 4 = 10

So the total number of possible outcomes = 10

Let A be the event that of getting red beads from first Bag

Since First Bag contains 6 red beads

So the total number of possible outcomes for the event A is 6

So the probability  \displaystyle \sf{ P(A) = \frac{6}{10} = \frac{3}{5} \: }

SECOND BAG

First bag contains 6 red beads and 4 green beads.

Second bag contains 2 Red and 2 green beads more

So second bag contains 8 red beads and 6 green beads

So total number of beads = 8 + 6 = 14

So the total number of possible outcomes = 14

Let B be the event that of getting red beads from second Bag Bag

Since First Bag contains 8 red beads red beads

So the total number of possible outcomes for the event B is 8

So the probability

 \displaystyle \sf{ P(B) = \frac{8}{14} = \frac{4}{7} \: }

 \displaystyle \because \sf{ \: \frac{3}{5} > \frac{4}{7} \: }

 \therefore \: \sf{P(A) > P(B) }

Hence The probability of getting red beads from First Bag bag is more than Second Bag
