Answer

Probability of drawing a green ball = 3/4

Total number of balls = 24

Explanation

Let the number of green balls be x

Then, total number of balls = (6 + x)

So, probability of drawing a green ball = x/(6 + x)

And, probability of drawing a yellow ball = 6/(6 + x)

Given, probability of drawing a green ball is thrice the yellow ball

→ x/(6 + x) = 3 × 6/(6 + x)

→ x = 3 × 6

→ x = 18

Total balls = 6 + 18 = 24

So, probability of drawing a green ball = 18/(6 + 18) = 18/24 = 3/4

Answer:

let the green ball be x

total ball be yellow + green be 6+x

probability of yellow ball be 6/6+x

and A.T.Q 6/6+x*3 =(x/6+x)

18/6+x= x/6+x

by cross multiplication

18(6+x) =3x(6+x)

108+18x=18x+3x²

36= 3x²

by arranging it we get

x=6

hence x=6

total ball be 6+6=12

green be 6

probability of green ball be 6/12 i. e. 1/2
