a bag contains 60 marbles, some white and some red. The ratio of white marbles to red ones is 4:2. How many white marbles are there?

Hey mate here's your answer.....

Total no. of marbles= 60

Ratio of white marbles to red marbles= 4:2

No of white marbles = 4/6×60 = 40

No of red marbles = 2/6×60 = 20

Hello mate

The solution is :
given there are 60 marbles
let one marble be x
then 4x + 2x = 60
6x= 60
x = 10
So there are 40 white marbles. Ans

adeculus: ok, I see how you broke answer down but once you divided 6/60 ...what did you multiple the 10 to get 40? did you multiple the 4x
