A bag contains 94 coins of 50 paise and 25 paise denominations. If the total worth of these coins be rupees 29.75. Find the number of coins of each kind.

Let no. of 50p coins be x and 25p coins be y

then

x+y=94........(1)

given that:-

now their total value is ₹29.75 =2975paise

no. of 50 paise coins = x

no. of 25 paise coins = y


50x +25y =2975

25(2x+y)=2975

2x+y=119..........2

subtractin --(1) from --(2)

we get ,

x=25 put in --(1)

we get,

y =94 - x

= 69

no. of 50 p coins  is 25 and 25 p coins is 69
