total no. of coins = 93

let no. of 1 rupee coin be x and 50 paise coin be y

then , x+y=93

and value of coin =5600 paise

100x +50y=5600

x=19 y= 74

no. of 50 paise coins = 74

Answer:

The number of 50 paise coins are 74

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of 50 paise coins be x

Let the number of 100 paise coins be y

Total number of coins = 93

Therefore

x + y = 93 → (1)

Given that the total value of coins = 56 Rupees

= 5600 paise

Therefore

50x + 100y = 5600  → (2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 50 we get equation (3)

50(x + y) = 93 × 50

50x + 50y = 4650 → (3)

By substracting the equations (2) and (3) we get

50y = 950

y = 19

Put y value

x + y = 93

x = 93 - 19

x = 74

Therefore the number of 50 paise coins are 74
