SOLUTION

GIVEN

A bag contains cards numbering from 5 to 25. One card is drawn at random from the bag.

TO DETERMINE

The probability that the card has numbers from 10 to 15

EVALUATION

Here it is given that A bag contains cards numbering from 5 to 25

So the total number of cards = 25 - 5 + 1 = 21

So the total number of possible outcomes = 21

One card is drawn at random from the bag.

Let A be the event that the card has numbers from 10 to 15

Then card will be one of 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

So the total number of possible outcomes for the event A is 6

So the required probability

= P(A)

 =   \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{6}{21} }

 =   \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{2}{7} }
