A bag contains cards which are numbered from 2 to 90.A card is drawn at random from from the bag.Find the probability that it bears a) a two-digit number,b)a number which is a perfect square

Total no. of possible outcomes = 89 {2, 3, 4, …., 90}

i) Let E be the event of getting a 2 digit no.

No of favorable outcomes = 81 {10, 11, 12, 13, ….., 80}

P(E) = (No.of favorable outcomes) will be divided by (Total no.of possible outcomes)

= 81/89

ii) Let E be the event of getting a no. which will be the perfect square

No. favourable outcomes = 8 {4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81}

P(E) = 8/89
