Let the number of 5, 2, and 1 rupees coins be 9x,7x,4x respectively.
Then
5*9x + 2*7x + 1*4x = 378
( amount = no. Of coins* value of coin)
45x+14x+4x = 378
63x = 378
X = 6
Then no. Of 5 rupee denomination = 9x = 9*6 = 54 coins

The number of 5 Rs coins is 54

Given:

A bag contains coins of 5 Rs 2 Rs and 1 Rs

The ratio of number of coins = 9 : 7 : 4

The total amount in bag = 378

To find:

The total number of coins of 5 rupee denomination

Solution:

Given ratio of the number of coins is 9:7:4, 5Rs 2Rs and 1Rs respectively

Let 9x, 7x and 4x be the number of coins of each

[ since they are in 9: 7: 4 ratio ]

⇒ Number of 5 Rs coins = 9x

⇒ total amount = 9x × 5 = 45x Rs

⇒ Number of 2 Rs coins = 7x

⇒ total amount = 7x × 2 = 14x Rs

⇒ Number of 1 Rs coins = 4x

⇒ total amount = 4x × 1 = 4x Rs

Given that total amount in bag = 378 Rs

⇒ 45x Rs + 14x Rs + 4x Rs = 378 Rs

⇒ 63x = 378

⇒ x = 378/63 = 6

⇒ Number of 5 Rs coins = 9x = 9(6) = 54

The number of 5 Rs coins = 54
