Let 50 paise coins be x
5 rupees coins will be (150-x) as there are q50 coins in the bag
50 paise = 100/50=1/2 rupees
1/2(x)+5(150-x)= 300 rupees
x/2+750-5x = 300 rs
-9x/2+750= 300
750-300 = 9x/2
450= 9x/2 => 9x = 900 => x=900/9 = 100 (50-paise coins )
5rupees coins => 150-x => 150-100=> 50 coins
hope this helps

Let the coins of 50 paise = x
Coins of 5 rupees = 150 - x
Total coins of 50 paise = 50/100 * x = 0.5x rupees
( we took 50/100 to convert it into rupees)
Total coins of 5 rupees = 5 ( 150 - x) = 750 - 5x
Now, 0.5x + 750 - 5x = 300
4.5x = 750 - 300
x = 450/4.5
x = 100
So we have 100 coins of 50 paise
And 150 - 100 = 50 coins of 5 rupees
total sum 100 * 0.5 + 50 * 5 = 50 + 250 = 300
