A bag contains five green marbles, three blue marbles, two red marbles, and two yellow marbles. One marble is drawn out randomly.
a) Are the four different colour outcomes equally likely? Explain.
b) Find the probability of drawing each colour marble i.e. , P(green), P(blue), P(red) and P(yellow)
c) Find the sum of their probabilities.

a) Four different colour outcomes are not equally likely as no. of balls in each color are different from each other.

b) Total no.of balls = 5+3+2+2 = 12
No. of green balls : 5
 P(green ) =   \frac {5} {12}

No. of red balls : 2
 P(red ) =   \frac {2} {12}

No. of blue balls : 3
 P(blue ) =   \frac {3} {12}

No. of yellow balls : 2
 P(yellow  ) =   \frac {2} {12}

c)  \sum {P (colors)}  = P(green ) + P(red) + P(yellow) + P(blue) \\ <br />=&gt; 5/12 + 2/12 + 2/12 + 3/12 \\ <br />=&gt; 12/12 = 1 <br />
