a bag contains in all 50 balls. some of them are white, some are blue and some are red. the number of white balls is 11 times the number of Blue Balls. the number of red balls is less than the number of white balls.also the number of red balls is more number of blue balls . if one of the ball is selected at random from the bag what is the probability that it is red?

Let the no. of blue balls be: x

no. of white balls = 11x

x < no. of red ball > 11x

Total balls = 50

P(E) red balls = 1- [P(E) of blue balls +P(E) of white balls]

= 1- [x\50+11x\50]

= 1-12x\50

=50-12x\50

∴P(E) of red balls = 50\50-12x\50

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let blue balls be = x

Therefore white balls = 11x

Red balls =50-12x

As blue balls>red balls

x>50-12x

x+12x>50

13x>50

x>50/13

x>3.85 ....(1)

Also

Red balls>white balls

50-12x>11x

50>11x+12x

50>23x

50/23>x

2.17>x .......... (2)

From 1 and 2

x=3

As red balls=50 -12x

50-36=14

probability of red ball=14/50=7/25
