Step-by-step explanation:

Given: card marked from 1 to 49

Total no of cards : 49

a. an odd no.

 Favourable outcomes  = 1, 3, 5, 7,.............45, 47, 49

 Total favourable outcomes =  (49 + 1) / 2       = 50 / 2       = 25

 Probability of odd no. = 25 / 49

b. multiple of 5 lying between 1 to 49 = 9         [ ∵ 49 ÷ 5, quotient = 9]

    Total favourable outcome = 9

    Probability of a multiple of 5 = 9 /49

c. even prime : 2                                       [2 is the only even prime no.]

  favourable outcome = 1

Probability of an even prime no. = 1 / 49

Explanation :

a. as there are odd no. of cards and the marking is started with 1 (which is also an odd no.) , it is obvious that odd no. cards are 1 more than even no. cards. Thus we added 1 to 49 to make it even and divide by 2, to get the total no. of odd no. cards.

b. we divided the total no.of cards by 5, because the total no. of multiple of 5 is the quotient.

c. 2 is the only even prime no.
