Ratio of Rs 10 : Rs 20 = 2 : 3

Define x:

Let x be the constant ratio

Rs 10 : Rs 20 = 2x : 3x

Form equation and solve for x:

Total sum is Rs 1600

10(2x) + 20(3x) = 1600

20x + 60x = 1600

80x = 1600

x = 1600 ÷ 80 = 20

Find the total number of notes:

Rs 10 notes = 2x = 2(20) = 40

Rs 20 notes = 3x = 3(20) = 60

Total number of notes = 40 + 60 = 100

Answer: There are 100 pieces of notes.

Given :

Ratio of Rs 10 and Rs 20 is 2 : 3

Let the ratio of Rs 10 is 2x

Let the ratio of Rs 20 is 3x

= 2x(10)

= 3x(20)

According to the question sum is 1600

Finding the value of x -

2x(10) + 3x(20) = 1600

20x + 60x = 1600

80x = 1600

X = 1600/80

X = 20.

Finding total number of notes

Rs 10 = 2(20) = 40

Rs 20 = 3(20) = 60

40 + 60 = 100 .
