GIVEN : A bag contains three green marbles, four blue marbles, and two orange marbles.

Solution :

We have , Number of green marbles = 3

Number of Blue marbles = 4

Number of orange marbles = 2

Total number of marbles in a bag = 3 + 4 + 2  = 9

Total number of outcomes = 9

Let E = Event  of getting a marble which is not orange

Number of marbles which is not orange i.e green and blue marbles = (3 + 4) = 7

Number of outcome favourable to E = 7

Probability (E) = Number of favourable outcomes / Total number of outcomes

P(E) = 7/9

Hence, the probability of getting a  marble which is not orange , P(E) = 7/9.

The correct option is (d) : 7/9
