Solution:

Total amounts of each type of coins are in the ratio 3:4:5

Let say amount are 3x , 4x and 5x

3x + 4x + 5x  = 2400

=> 12x = 2400

=> x = 200

3x = 600  Rs   coins of 25 ps  = 600/(25/100)  = 2400

4x = 800  Rs    coins of 50  ps  = 800/(60/100)  = 1600

5x  = 1000  Rs  coins of 1 Rs  = 1000/1  = 1000

Total Coins = 2400 + 1600 + 1000  = 5000

To Find:-

• The total number of coins in the bag

Solution:-

Let us assume the amounts as 3x, 4x and 5x

➻ 3x + 4x +5x = 2400

➻ 7x + 5x = 2400

➻ 12x = 2400

➻ x = 2400/12

➻ x = 200

Now,

• 3x = 3(200) = 600

Rs coins of 25 paise = 600 ÷ (25/100) = 2400

• 4x = 4(200) = 800

Rs coins of 50 paise = 800 ÷ (50/100) = 1600

• 5x = 5(200) = 1000

Rs coins of 1 rupee = 1000/1 = 1000

∴ Total number of coins in the bag :-

2400 + 1600 + 1000
