Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability of getting a white ball = 3/10

Probability of getting a black ball = 2/5

No of black balls = 20

Let the no of white balls = x

Let the no of red balls = y

Total no of balls = x+y+ 20

According to question

20/ x+y+20 = 2/5 ( black balls)

100 = 2x + 2y + 40

2( x+y) = 60

x+y = 30. ------ i)

x/x+y+20 = 3/10 ( white balls)

10x = 3( x+y) + 60

10x= 90 + 60

x = 15. -------- ii)

from i and ii

15 + y = 30

y= 15

Probability of getting a red ball = 15/ 15+15+20

= 15/ 50

= 3/10

Total no of balls = x+y+20

= 50
