orange cards = 3

green cards = 5

total cards = 5 + 3 = 8

probability of getting green card

= p(green card) = 5/8

in percentage = 5/8 × 100

= 62.5%

Given - Number of green and orange cards

Find - Probability of not orange card

Solution - The probability of not getting orange cards is 0.6.

The probability is calculated by the formula - number of favourable outcomes/total number of outcomes

The number of favourable outcomes is not the orange card. So, if the cards are not orange, then they will be green. Therefore, the number of favourable outcomes will be the number of green cards.

Number of favourable outcomes = 5

Total number of outcomes = 5 + 3

Total number of outcomes = 8

Keep the values in the formula to find the value of probability.

Probability = 5/8

Probability = 0.6

Thus, the probability of not getting orange cards is 0.6.
