if there is no air resistance or any other factor then the beg covers large distance compared to the airoplane.

the aeroplane will be right above the bag all time during journey. As the velocity of bag in x direction will not change with time because there is no acceleration in x direction and will be same as velocity of aeroplane.( here x direction is horizontal direction)
