Solving an example for your question:-

A bag of 100 kg of tea made up of leaf and dust tea is bought for Rs 17250. if leaf tea costs Rs 250 per kg and dust tea costs Rs 85 per kg find quantity of leaf and dust tea in the bag.

Let the quantity of leaf be x Kg.
Then quantity of dust tea is (100−x) Kg .
Cost of x kg of leaf=250x
Cost of (100−x) Kg of dust tea=85(100−x)
A.T.Q
250x+85(100−x)=17250
250x+8500−85x=17250
165x=17250−8500
165x=8750=8750/165=53.03 Kg.
Quantity of leaf=53.03 Kg.
Quantity of dust tea=100−53.03=46.97 Kg .
