A baker found that the cake prepared by him is hard and small in size. Which ingredient has he forgotten to add that would have made a cake fluffy give reason

The baker had forgotten to add baking powder. It is used in making cakes, breads and other baked food items. When baking powder comes in contact with the water then the tartaric acid and sodium hydrogencarbonate reacts to produce carbon dioxide gas and the bubbles makes the cake to rise. thus it becomes soft and spongy
