444=276*1+168

276=168*1+108

168=108*1+60

108=60*1+48

60=48*1+12

48=12*4+0

H.C.F.=12

THEREFORE, THERE CAN BE ONLY 12  STACK.

TOTAL BISCUITS = 444+276=720

                              = 720/12

                              = 60 biscuits

Concept:

HCF means Highest Common Factor, i.e. it is the method that is used to find the greatest factor that divides the given numbers.

Given:

We have,

Sweet biscuits = 444

And,

Salty biscuits = 276

Find:

We are asked to find the number of biscuits that can be placed in each stack for this purpose.

Solution:

So,

We have,

Sweet biscuits = 444

And,

Salty biscuits = 276

Now,

To get the number of biscuits in each stack,

We will find the HCF of the given biscuits,

NOw,

Find the factors of 444 and 276,

i.e.

Factors of 276,

i.e.

276 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 23

Now,

Factors of 276,

i.e.

444 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 111

So,

HCF (276, 444) = 2 × 2 × 3 = 12

So,

Each stack get 12 biscuits of both types.

Hence, the number of biscuits that can be placed in each stack is 12.
