Answer:
- All animals use the oxygen that is produced by plants to breathe.
- In exchange, mammals release carbon dioxide, which plants absorb to create food.
- As a result, the balance between carbon dioxide and oxygen is maintained by this give-and-take connection.
- Because plants are autotrophs, able to produce their own food, and animals are heterotrophs, unable to do so, they must rely on plants (autotrophs) for their sustenance, maintaining a balance between the two is crucial.
- In addition, plants require CO2, which is released into the environment by animals during respiration.
- This, in turn, causes plants to release oxygen, which is necessary for mammals to survive.
