A balance must exist between substances entering and exiting cells.

Most animals remove substances by urinating.

Kidney can release the substances through urine and that is an essential function which can save the body from dehydration.

But a balance must exist between substances entering and exiting cells because body can dehydrate due to fewer intakes of water and salt.

On the other part exceeding limit of the substances should be monitored.
